The PCs in NSW public libraries were provided by NSW.net to fulfil a NSW Government commitment to give free internet access to members of the community.

They are to be used exclusively for free internet access by members of the community.

The initiative is intended to make information available on the World Wide Web available in the public domain.

The terminals cannot be used in any way that would impinge on members of the community freely accessing this information. For example, they cannot be used to charge for services, including e-mail access.
