All NSW public libraries are members of the NSW.net Consortium and may purchase subscriptions to selected online databases on terms negotiated by NSW.net. There are around 80 products on the Consortium's list of databases. Subscriptions are possible at any time throughout the year with payment on a pro-rata basis. AustLit is the key resource for information about Australian writers and writing covering the 1780's to the present. The database contains over 90,000 records of which 10,000 are full text. This ranges from novels, through poems, short stories, drama and plays and critical reviews. AustLit provides a combination of enhanced biographical and bibliographical information and the full text of critical articles, creative writing and information resources about many aspects of Australia's literary heritage.
