The tyranny of distance is a reality for many people in NSW. Because the cost of Internet access is still high in some areas people are missing out on information and online services. NSW.net has made greater community access to the Internet a priority.
NSW.net provides cost-effective access to the internet for councils and public libraries.
The underlying philosophy of NSW.net is equity and participation. The aim is to increase the efficiency of access to the Internet and online services across NSW and to eliminate any inequality of access between metropolitan and rural NSW.
NSW.net supports the NSW Government's vision for networked communities and electronic service delivery.
NSW.net has been endorsed by the Local Government and Shires Associations of NSW as the preferred carrier for access to online services for NSW local governments.
